Impractical thinking affects career

Hmm I am really excited by starting my blog with a big bang again and this time I firmly decided to write at least one post per month.

Recently I met a guy who is a MCA 2008 passed out. Here I am just trying to give a write up of his struggle in pace with recession. To introduce him his name is Ranga my degree classmate and close friend of mine. After BSc computer science we choose different paths. From my side I was a traditional guy and hence choose to go for MSc rather than professional degrees like MCA& MBA . One reason for me to choose this is financial crisis and second was communication. I do not want to go and try where I am not confident at but I am a bit techie so I preferred to go that way.

Oh..my God..! Why is this guy talking about him rather than the guy who is actually struggling…?

This is your reaction ...is it?

Hey cool buddy. Here I am just comparing how some modern thoughts affects career. From here it goes very interestingly. Just follow….!

But my friend Ranga is a person mixed with modern thoughts, even though we are from a mid-level town Madanapalle, his knowledge was beyond his circumstances like his family back ground, financial support and many more. We really enjoyed a lot in our 3 years of BSc degree. Finally the day has come to go for higher studies, everyone took decisions keeping in mind their environment and financial support. But this Ranga’s thoughts were beyond practical implementation, Why? He chooses to go for Hotel Management. Yep, if you think now..its well and good thought but this has happened way back in 2004. At that point in time, he choose HM course without knowing the details of the course? What is the fee and many more details. With this thought he did not attempt any entrance examination as he was firm that he will get in to Hotel management.

Fine, all our class mates including me took some entrance examination and were busy in counseling and joining, but on one fine day after all the entrance tests were completed he came to know that the fee for the hotel management course is beyond his expectations and he is sure that his family can not financially support for this course.

So what is the next step..?

None, BLANK. Yes its blank and a year was wasted. Then he left the thought of HM and realized that 'the circumstances will not support me to go that way I am really thinking', hence next year he choose to go for MCA.

Cool, MCA was completed in 2008.

But by the time he came out of college all his BSc degree classmates were already with 1+ years of experience working with good compensation. He was confident that he can easily get job through referral.

Here goes the bad luck…! RECESSION started.

No organization dared to recruit freshers, this guy inspite of realizing the fact that is happening around the world, he kept on trying for job till Jan 2010, the core time of recession. He was vexed with his trails and he finally decided not to go for software and meanwhile for sustenance he choose to work as a teacher. As recession slowly went down and organizations started recruiting he again want to step in to this filed. That’s good idea, but the mistake he did was he didn’t try to keep in pace with the technology and knowledge, this has put him in troubles and he is not able to get through interviews and is more disappointed now..!

When I met this guy just 2 days back he explained me his troubles, so I asked

I: what is the effort that you are putting to get a job?

Ranga: What effort should I ..

I: May be reading, uploading your CV to Job sites, maintaining contact with your working friends.

Ranga: I don’t think it will help

I: How will you get job, without any effort?

Ranga: Arey yaar I am a MCA graduate.

I: So what,..!

Ranga: This is too much, being an MCA graduate I should get job easily but as I am an unlucky guy I am not able to.

WILL YOU AGREE WITH HIM…?

Folks who are all 2008 passed outs and waiting for jobs, don’t just think that you will easily get job without any effort. Just ask the above questions to yourself and get answers you will get job very easily.

Folks who are all working just help your friends to come out of depression and refer them in your organizations that will get a family in to light.
